Deserted beaches or live music and dancing’ til dawn – whatever you want, you’ll find it on Antigua! A long time favourite with sailors, this is the island where the rum punch flows and the ‘jump up’ parties are non-stop, especially during
Antigua Race Week, one of the main events in the world sailing calendar.
Thrill seekers should head to
Kite Antigua, situated on Jabberwock Beach, a 15 minute walk from the club. Here you can try the thrilling new sport of kite surfing under the watchful eye of fully qualified instructors. For more information and to book visit

The ultimate Caribbean experience is Shirley Heights on a Sunday evening. A twenty piece local steel drum band and a reggae band play between 4pm -10pm on top of the hill with spectacular views of the sunset over English Harbour and beyond – the perfect place to enjoy the Caribbean atmosphere, complete with friendly locals and barbecue food.
The island’s capital, St.Johns, is just a short taxi ride away from the Club. A fun maze of duty-free shops and busy streets, the centre is lined with colourful market stalls selling everything from clothes, to arts and crafts, food, fish and flowers. This is the best place to get a real feel for Antiguan life – especially on a cricket match day - to listen to the different music and see the sights and sounds of the island at its heart. The Antigua Recreation Ground in St. Johns is home to many world-class cricket tournaments. There are also some very good places to eat where you can enjoy local specialities and tasty Caribbean cuisine.
Hiring a jeep is a great way to explore Antigua. Perhaps you’d like to stop at one of its 365 beautiful beaches or learn all about the island’s fascinating history at Nelson’s Dockyard in English Harbour, also home to Sunsail’s yacht charter base.
You can enjoy a day’s game fishing for Tuna or Marlin on a chartered sports boat or, further afield, day trips can be arranged to the islands of Barbuda or Guadeloupe along with helicopter rides to Montserrat. Or experience a half day snorkel at Bird Island or Cades Reef. And if that’s not enough, there are two 18- hole golf courses, one of which is a championship course near to the Club.
