The old town of Foça with its cobblestone pathways and turquoise shores are only a 20 min stroll or 10 min bike ride away. Quaint shops line the main street, which leads to the scenic harbour and presents a variety of fantastic restaurants and tavernas where you can expect to be offered some delicious local fish recipes. This town is also famous for Mediterranean monk seals, which have made their home here since ancient times. Indeed, the name ‘Foça’ is derived from the ancient ‘Phokaia’, which means “town of seals”.
