We encourage all children aged 5 years and upward to enjoy sailing as part of their Sunsail Clubs holiday. Whether they take part in our FREE Sunsail Kids’ Sailing Scheme as part of their Kids’ Club, or they want to try it alone, we ensure that they are able to choose what they want to do in a safe but fun environment.
To help keep them safe, we provide any child (5yrs +) with a colour-coded wristband so that we know which level they are at and help them choose the right equipment and instructor if needed. PLUS for absolute peace of mind we have staff in safety boats patrolling the entire sailing area, always ready to give your child help should they need it.
Sunsail Kids’ Sailing Scheme- Kids’ Club Option
As part of their daily Kids’ Club activities children from the age of 5yrs+can choose to take part in our FREE Kids’ Sailing Scheme. For up to an hour a day, our RYA qualified dinghy instructors will teach a structured programme of personal safety, practical boat knowledge, tacking, knots, capsizing drills and how to sail a figure of eight course. At the end of their holiday each child will be given a certificate outlining what they’ve learnt. So they can easily take their sailing to the next level, back at home or on another Sunsail Clubs holiday! The coloured wristband systems works as follows:

 | All of the above PLUS, free sailing outside Kids Club using Taz, Topaz, Pico and Funboat dinghies. |
 | All of the above PLUS, free sailing outside Kids’ Club using Laser, Magno, Sport 16s, RS Feva, RS Vision, Omega, Vibe. No trapeze use allowed. |
 | All of the above PLUS, free sailing outside Kids’ Club using RS800, 29er, RS 500, Vago, RS Vareo, Hobie Cat and Xenon. Trapeze use allowed. |
*Your child will not be able to sail without your consent, this applies to the sailing option in the Kids’ Club as well.
Any child without a wristband will not be allowed on the water without their guardians supervision. Please note that any band over a yellow will allow your child out on the water without direct supervision.
