Respecting our Sailing Waters
Sunsail remain committed to looking after the environment and supporting the cultures where we operate and over many years you have helped us to ensure that our presence does not negatively impact these areas. Here are a few dates of how you can help us to leave these areas ‘as good as or better than we found them’.
Avoid pumping oily bilge water or other hazardous substances into the sea. Never use washing up liquid to deal with oil spills. Spill kits are provided on your yacht. Be litter conscious - never throw rubbish overboard and minimize the use of plastics and non-biodegradable products. Keep a safe distance when viewing marine life, approach side on and stop with propellers in neutral. Identify dark water areas as possible important shallow ecosystems. Avoid purchase of marine ornamental souvenirs and the harvest of endangered fish. Please wash off your anchor when leaving an anchorage. Your yacht is equipped with low phosphate washing up liquid, please use this and keep the bottle so that it can be refilled. Separate the waster onboard and recycle as much as possible. Please ensure the use of holding tanks and pump out facilities, as well as minimising the use of bleach.
