Sailing in Epidavros-Saronic Gulf

Epidavros is located on the opposite side of the Saronic Gulf to Athens. This flotilla sailing offers scenic, line-of-sight coastal cruising, suitable for confident sailors with a reasonable amount of experience.

In spring, there are good light sailing conditions with stronger Meltemi winds in summer although not as strong as in the Sporades. Winds are generally consistent and from a southerly direction, ranging from 5 -20 knots (6 - 23 mph), which tend to drop off in the evening.

The tidal range is minimal and summer temperatures average a very pleasant 30 C (86 F).

  • Panormous Skopelos

Panormous is the biggest resort on the island of Skopelos with visitors drawn to its spectacular beach of dazzling white stones and clear, turquoise water. Other sandy beaches are within easy reach. After the remoteness of some of the outer Sporades, a Panormous Skopelos boat charter allows you to re-acclimatise to the world of cafes, bars and tavernas. The anchorage at Blo is much favoured by yachties.

  • Patitiri Alonissos

There’s an air of boho-chic about Alonissos, which is home to a smattering of galleries and alternative therapists. The island is popular with walkers because of a network of trails - ranging from the gentle to the more challenging - that criss-cross the island. Moor your Patitiri Alonissos boat charter on the Patitiri town quay and discover for yourself the charm of one of the most rugged and beautiful of the Sporades islands.

  • Pegadi

One of the delights of a Pegadi boat charter is the ability to pause for a while at a charming and unspoilt village on the shores of the beautiful gulf of Volos. After a walk up the hill to the lookout tower of Achilles – who is said to have embarked on his journey to Troy from here – enjoy a delicious meal and a few glasses of wine at one of the excellent tavernas on the harbour.

  • Peristiri

A Peristiri boat charter is the ultimate get away from it all. Here at this remote and uninhabited island in the Sporades there is nothing going on that will interfere with some serious relaxation. Make sure you have a good book, the makings of a barbecue and something cold to drink. That’s all you’ll need.
