Ithaca Flotilla Sailing Holidays

Overview

The two-week Ithaca flotilla holiday is ideal for those who have previously enjoyed a one-week flotilla holiday and are ready to set sail on a longer trip or for those who like the social side of flotilla but want are looking for a bit more independance which the 5 days of free sailing offer. 

There are a couple of hours gentle sailing per day for half the flotilla time with the five ‘free sailing’ days – which can be as adventurous or as chilled as you like - making up the rest. 

Ithaca flotilla sailing affords the opportunity to visit the beautiful islands of Levkas, Ithaca and Cephalonia and allows plenty of time to admire the scenery, laze around on the beaches – some of the best in Greece - and explore the islands’ mythological history.

Sailing in Ithaca

With easy sailing and generally short hops between islands, Ithaca flotilla sailing is suitable for those with some previous sailing experience. The route heads south towards Cephalonia, allowing plenty of time for relaxed cruising with line-of-sight navigation. 

Picturesque bays and charming harbours for overnight stops are numerous. From April to November gentle morning winds strengthen to perfect north-west winds of 5 to 20 knots (6 - 23 mph).

With temperatures ranging from 23 – 33 C ( 74 - 91 F) this is shorts and t-shirt weather at its best.

  • Frikes Ithaca

    The village of Frikes lies on the north east coast of Ithaca, acknowledged as the location of Homer’s Odyssey. The beautiful blue waters off the beach on the outskirts of town make for excellent snorkelling and a Frikes Ithaca yacht charter is perfect for relaxed cruising, stopping off at whatever picturesque anchorages catch your eye.

  • Sivota Levkas

    The photogenic village of Sivota in Levkas, where the red roofed houses cluster together on the waterfront against a backdrop of slopes planted with olive groves, lies on the south coast of the island of Levkas. A Sivota Levkas boat charter allows you enjoy the good selection of bars and tavernas that line the village quay and soak up the bustling atmosphere of a stop-over that is deservedly popular with charterers.

  • Spartahori Meganissi

    The memory of your visit to the village of Spartahori is one that will stay with you long after you have returned home from your Meganissi yacht charter. Moor by the beach and climb up the hill to a village that looks as if it hasn’t changed in a hundred years. Eat either in the village or at one of the tavernas by the beach – the food is excellent in both.

  • Vathi

    A Vathi boat charter brings you to the sleepy little capital of Meganissi where you’ll find a handful of good tavernas, a couple of shops and not much else! Nearby you can circumnavigate the Onassis-owned islands of Skorpio and Skorpidhi and anchor off them for a swim and snorkel.
