Caribbean among top dream trips

One in 10 people say their dream trip would be to the Caribbean, a survey has found.

A poll of 2,000 people found travel of some description was the top of most people's list, with 9% singling out a holiday in the Caribbean as one of their aspirations.

Some 45% of respondents said they would be willing to push their financial boundaries to fulfil their dreams.

With that in mind, people could consider sailing the Caribbean, perhaps exploring the islands of Antigua, the Bahamas or St Martin.

Meanwhile a yacht charter holiday would help the 11% who revealed their life ambition was to swim with dolphins to get closer to their dream.

Roger Black MBE, Olympic medal winner and Scottish Widows ambassador for the London 2012 Games, said: "A once-in-a-lifetime experience is something to aim for and can be very motivating. It's something that people aspire to do throughout their lives.

"For me, winning my Olympic medal was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. It goes to show we can achieve our dreams, if we're willing to commit enough time and effort."
