You have now built up your sea miles, and are ready to put your sailing skills to the test. You are classed as an advanced sailor and can embark on qualifications tailored to more specific skills and techniques.
The RYA Costal Skipper course teaches everything required to skipper a yacht safely on coastal and offshore passages by day and night. If successful the Skipper can subsequently charter a Sunsail yacht from any Sunsail base worldwide. The Yachtmaster Preparation Course and RYA/MCA Offshore Exam provides the next step in your development, teaching the skills of passage planning, preparation for sea, pilotage, yacht handling under sail and power, adverse weather and emergency procedures.
If you want to build your confidence and ability for more challenging charters as well as getting some essential seamiles then join a Sunsail MileCatcher. Covering more miles than a traditional yachting holiday, the MileCatchers usually involve a variety of weather conditions over out of season dates during the early and late season.
