Intermediate Courses
The Flotilla Training course is designed to improve your understanding of the theory and practice of sailing before you reach the level of Day Skipper. The course provides the basic knowledge and confidence required to set sail on our Level 0 flotillas.
Once you have reached Day Skipper standard, you are now classed as intermediate level and exciting times await. The Day Skipper certificate will allow you to take your own yacht on charter to many of our breathtaking sailing destinations around the globe with your friends and family by your side. We have destinations suitable for both novices and seasoned sailors alike, from the historical cities and delicious cuisine of the Mediterranean to the breathtaking scenery and warm breezes in the Caribbean. You are sure to find somewhere to suit all tastes.
The One Day Rusty Skipper is perfect for sailors who are keen to re-familiarise themselves with sailing a yacht. Our highly acclaimed teaching programme combined with our friendly and fun attitude, builds on your existing skills in both theory as well as practical sessions afloat. All Sunsail’s instructors are fully RYA qualified and are selected for their expertise and enthusiasm.
Many countries require visiting yachtsmen to hold a certificate of competence. If you are planning to sail or cruise within Europe and the Mediterranean the RYA recommends skippers hold the International Certificate of Competence (ICC). This is particularly true in Croatia where laws have recently changed and skippers are required to hold a valid ICC. Your current qualification may be sufficient to qualify for an ICC certificate.
Sunsail run a number of selected MileCatcher opportunities to help you to build your confidence as a sailor as well as adding your sea miles. These give you the chance to experience a variety of weather conditions and night sailing over early, late and out of season dates.
