Introductory Courses
Sailing is fun, affordable and more accessible than ever before with Sunsail. We offer many different ways for you to get started as an individual, with friends or with family. Our fully qualified RYA instructors are all carefully selected for their expertise and enthusiasm and throughout our highly acclaimed teaching programme, beginners are encouraged and eased gently into sailing to build confidence both on and off the water. Regardless of whether you sail the Solent or the Whitsundays – the experience is the same, all over the world. Your enjoyment and safety are paramount.
For those not sure if sailing is for them, a One Day Taster provides an introduction to the basics of sailing without the pressures of completing a certification course. The RYA Start Yachting Practical course gives a more hands-on experience for beginners providing experience of steering a yacht, sail handling, rope work and saftey on board. For those keen to become an active member of crew, the RYA Competent Crew Practical introduces beginners to the theory and practice of sailing, providing the groundwork for progressing to the RYA Day Skipper Practical.
Don't forget that children over 16 yrs can join any of our courses if accompanied by an adult. For the younger ones, children over 8yrs can join any of our family courses. Plus, remember your 20% discount for children aged 12 and under! For groups of three or more we are happy to run a course especially for you on any date you want, subject to availability. Anything is possible! Why not organise a Comp Crew or Day Skipper on different dates? We can run the 5 day course from Friday to Wednesday. Or why not get some Race Training under your belt?
