Australia
The WhitsundaysFrom Sunsail’s base on Hamilton Island in the Whitsundays – the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef – students can enrol on a choice of fully accredited RYA sailing courses, each teaching valuable new skills in a fun and interactive way in a breathtakingly beautiful environment.
Hamilton Island is Australia’s most popular island holiday destination. As well as having its own jet airport, ten cosmopolitan restaurants, an extensive range of accommodation and excellent marina facilities, there’s also great shopping and more than 85 activities to choose from. It is the ultimate location for a resort holiday before or after your Sunsail sailing school course.
The sailing areaRated as one of the world’s most beautiful sailing grounds, the Whitsundays has stunning natural landscapes, spectacular marine life, luxurious island resorts and an infinite selection of secluded anchorages. The 74 islands and islets that make up the Whitsunday group are surrounded by sparkling, calm waters and sheltered by the Great Barrier Reef. Ideal line-of-sight navigation makes sailing the Whitsundays as easy as it gets.
Tropical fish in a kaleidoscope of colours abound throughout this sailing zone, kept company by humpback whales, playful dolphins, curious turtles and manta rays. The Whitsundays have an extensive range of amazing destinations including Whitehaven Beach, voted one of the world’s top three beaches. Internationally renowned for its seven miles of pure white silica sand, this is the ultimate location to soak up the sun and marvel at the spectacular natural surroundings.
