Turkey Yacht Charters

Sailing level 1-3

Sailing holidays in Turkey are some of the best in the world – throughout the sailing area you will experience steady winds and clear blue waters with beautiful beaches and numerous secluded anchorages.

Sunsail’s sailing area is vast, affording those on a Turkish yacht charter an opportunity to explore a wide range of archaeological ruins, magnificent tombs carved into cliff faces and history in a landscape of wooded hillsides and tree-lined bays. Turkey is a country that has perfected the art of combining the pleasures of tradition with the convenience of modernity, as evidenced by the prevalence of both bustling modern marinas and traditional coastal villages.

Turkey has long been the meeting point between the Far East and the Mediterranean and this influence is reflected in the culture and cuisine of the country, which varies subtly from region to region but is invariably delicious, with numerous small and intimate restaurants along the coast so you can see – and taste! – for yourself. Bazaars that resemble an Aladdin’s cave packed with treasures waiting to be unearthed, offer a chance to pick up some of the spices, trinkets, handcrafts and ‘kilim’ carpets for which Turkey is famous.

Turkey sailing conditions include light morning and stronger afternoon winds ranging between 10 and 20 knots. Gocek offers mixture of short hops and longer passages and is best suited for newly qualified sailors while Turgutreis has longer passages in stronger winds and is best suited for experienced sailors.

Turkish local authorities require ICC or RYA Day Skipper as a minimum. If you don’t have necessary sailing requirements, check our Skippered Yacht Charter or Sailing Courses
