Sunsail Match Racing Academy - The elite racing experience!

May-September 2012 on selected dates

As close as it gets to replicating the America’s Cup - the Sunsail Match Racing Academy lets you experience the thrills and spills of high drama yacht racing and close competition all in one day. Racing on optimised, identical Sunsail F40 racing yachts, whilst being coached by a professional World Match Racing Tour sailor; this will be the best, simplest to arrange and most fun match racing experience on the water.

 
Sunsail Racing in partnership with EMG has created this unique sailing experience to offer Grand Prix style racing for amateurs and experienced sailors alike. A new concept for water based experiences; the Match Racing Academy is the definitive way to engage your clients, friends or team mates in a high-end sailing event. With a professional World Match Racing Tour sailor on hand to provide guidance and demonstrate the best racing tactics, this is the closest you can get to the real thing.
 
The race teams will take to the water on our identically matched Sunsail F40 race yachts with a professional skipper and crew. Each team will experience a race training session followed by the first round of racing (flights), with each round lasting no more than 20 minutes. Race teams then rotate throughout the day as they go through the exhilarating knockout competition.

Proposed Itinerary
 
09.30 Arrive at Royal Lymington Yacht Club for breakfast & briefing
10.00 Board yachts and depart for coaching session. Teams will practice starts and all racing manoeuvres
11.30 First flights of racing begins
13.00 Lunch served at the George in Yarmouth, Isle of Wight
14.30 Racing continues
16.30 Petit finals
17.00 Finals
17:30 Return to Royal Lymington Yacht Club for Champagne prize giving Itinerary can be adapted to suit client requirements.
