Moorings
There are mooring buoys in the most popular anchorages and protected areas to save the seabed. National Park systems as well as private companies operate throughout the Virgin islands. Night time mooring buoys in the BVI are now US$25 per night.

Fishing Licenses

It is a legal requirement that anyone putting a line in the BVI waters must have a fishing license.

EACH PERSON FISHING MUST HAVE A RECREATIONAL FISHING LICENSE, except persons age 18 and under.

Last Stop Sports (LSS) can process your application before your arrival in Tortola for a $10 fee.

Please note that one application form per person must be completed. The $45 application fee and the $10 application fee is per person - not per boat. You will notice that the application form has a field to add the name of the vessel as well as the registration number, etc. NB The boat name is not required to complete the application. One authorization form is needed per credit card. If one credit card will
pay for all applications only one form needs to be completed for the full amount.

 


The best sailing is in the deep waters of the Inner Channel and Victoria Channel. Trade winds are usually fairly consistent out of an easterly direction. Tidal range is minimal, being about 18" at springs.
