Croatia bareboat yacht charter & sailing holidays
Coast of a thousand islands
Today’s Croatia is an effortless blend of old and new, historic and hip. Wherever you step ashore you’ll be met with a lovely welcome – Croatian hospitality is warm and genuine and renowned in the yachting community.
The Adriatic remains one of the world’s favourite places to sail, thanks to idyllic conditions and easy line-of-sight navigation in many areas. That’s why Sunsail has made Croatia home to its most modern fleet outside of the Caribbean. For 2007, the Croatian fleet is made up of 75% Premier yachts of just 2 years old or less. Each vessel is to be registered under the Croatian flag as Sunsail continues its long term commitment to this beautiful country. This is just one of many things that make Croatia a top yachting holiday choice.
Choose from two dramatically different yacht charter locations along Croatia’s stunning Adriatic coast. If you’re looking for an escape from it all then the Kornati Archipelago is your best bet by far. Meander lazily through a maze of deserted lunar landscapes and soul search for days with just the birds of prey and multi-coloured fish for company. If you’re keen on culture and in search of history and wonderful architecture then the impressive city of Dubrovnik is the ideal destination. It’s here in the south that you’ll find the most sandy beaches the Adriatic has to offer too.
For a bit of both worlds, opt for Kremik and sail the central area hopping from tiny island towns to more lively locations. You’ll find folklore and traditions in one, and giant open air nightclubs and chic waterfront cafés and bars in another. This is also the best base from which to visit the fresh central forests and famous waterfalls at Skradin.
No matter which area you choose as your holiday destination, you’ll find superb sailing conditions in beautiful surroundings, friendly locals, wonderful cuisine and a warm, dry Mediterranean climate. With 2,600 hours of sunlight in an average year, Croatia infact boasts one of the sunniest coastlines in Europe.
Croatia has it all – majestic walled cities with Medieval cobbled streets, ancient ruins, vineyards, forests, deserted coves and over a thousand islands to discover. In reliable five to twenty knot winds, you can keep the sailing distances as short as you like from one fully equipped, modern marina to another. Anchor or moor up in sheltered, peaceful harbours or busier towns – choose your stops according to your mood each day.
Having cruised every inch of the stunning coastline over twenty years, Sunsail knows this perfect yachting destination like no other sailing company. Sail with us and we’ll let you in on all the secrets…

International events which Sunsail helps organise attract hundreds of sailors from around the globe. The Adriatic and Croatia Yacht rallies have brought more than 200 Australians to the coast in recent years and the Engineering Challenge Cup welcomed over 340 sailors from more than 20 countries for a full week's racing. Early and late season (May and September) Sunsail aims to organise more team-building or corporate sailing events which will be yet another boost to the economy and tourism.
