April through to October the islands boast sunny weather and good easterly trade winds between 10 to 20 knots. July and August tend to be the windiest months. Some tropical rainfall can be experienced from December to February.

It is a non tidal sailing ground with a tropical climate. Maximum sunshine with temperatures from 24°C to 30°C during the day. Careful navigation is required between the ‘passes’ and in coral areas – both very well marked.

The best sailing is in the deep waters of the Inner Channel and Victoria Channel. Trade winds are usually fairly consistent out of an easterly direction. Tidal range is minimal, being about 18" at springs.
