Racing round The Needles, Round the Island Race

The waters off the coast of England are amongst some of the finest on offer and remain a firm favourite in the hearts of yachtsmen and women the world over. Playgrounds for Olympic champions and world famous sailors, cast off and explore this spectacular coastline.

Sunsail’s base in Port Solent is home to the largest matched fleet in the world and couldn’t be more ideally placed for access to the Solent and Isle of Wight. The south coast is all about sailing and quaint coastal villages cater for yachting enthusiasts with a constant supply of chandleries and well-equipped marinas. Deck shoes wander the local streets taking advantage of shore side attractions and welcoming, traditional pubs.

Races and regattas

Sunsail runs and attends a huge number of races, regattas and inter industry challenges in the Solent throughout the whole year, the most famous of which is Skandia Cowes Week. From 2 to 9 August 2008 compete alongside novices and Olympic sailors whilst not forgetting to take advantage of the impressive shore side entertainment!
