We've been talking about it (well, boasting, if we're honest) for a while but now, drum roll please—the new Sunsail 404 has arrived.
Glory Daze in the sun
The first of the line, the Glory Daze has made the long journey across the Atlantic Ocean from South Africa and is now ready and waiting for her first charter guests in Tortola. With a nice bit of Caribbean sunshine to add to the scene, we sent her out for her first photoshoot. And doesn't she look great?
She's setting sail from the BVI, Belize and Seychelles this winter, and Greece and Croatia in spring 2016.
But what do sailors think? Our BVI Sailing School Principal, Matthew Holt, took the Sunsail 404 out on her BVI maiden voyage and this is what he thought about the newest addition to our fleet:
"The 404 is a great improvement on an already awesome multihull design. The things I especially appreciate about the latest cat from Robertson and Caine:
- The access to the foredeck from the interior bridgedeck, adopted from the 404's big sister the Sunsail 444, is a handy addition. Of course, don't forget to secure the watertight door when underway.
- The galley forward design increases visibility for crew working in this area, while the settee aft configuration makes for a fantastic social space.
- Bonus—combining both seating areas with the companionway slider fully opened enhances the yachts living comfort for families or a group of friends.
- As a sailing instructor, I always appreciate when a yacht has a dedicated forward facing navigation desk, for passage planning and logkeeping underway. This feature proves that the 404 is a true cruising yacht."
