Ambassador Ollie Phillips Introduces the Sunsail 41.0

The new Sunsail 41.0

I am so excited by the prospect of sailing on the Sunsail 41.0 in 2020. The brand new Sunsail 41.0 is a cutting edge Performance Cruiser/Racer that combines incredible sailing performance with a revolutionary deck and interior design that is unparalleled in the sailing market, and is already a winner of multiple awards and positive test sail reviews.

My first sailing experience was a round the world race with Clipper, a race that is about maximum speed and battling the elements in the open oceans for over 40,000 miles. However, since then I have been focusing on shorter races in the Solent. This sort of round-the-cans racing requires great sailing performance, but also allows for a more versatile yacht that facilitates teambuilding, racing, client entertainment and dare I say it, an après-sail beer or a G&T on deck and some networking. All this is delivered in abundance with the new Sunsail fleet in the UK.

The yachts are available for bareboat charter for the more experienced teams, or Sunsail can provide their knowledgeable professional skippers and first mates to guide your team through their sailing experience – you’ll be learning from the best!

These boats are perfectly matched, with a turn of speed that makes them fun and exciting, and includes all the latest safety features and equipment to look after everyone onboard. The deck design gives plenty of open space for racing, but also for that all-important networking required by Sunsail’s corporate clients.

For those sleeping onboard, there is more room than I ever imagined possible on a yacht this size, with comfort bordering on luxury. There’s a full size double bed in the forward cabin, two further doubles aft, and in the main cabin, there’s bench seating that can be converted into a single bed and another double. This nine-berth boat is a first for Sunsail’s UK charter fleet, standing out amongst competitors as a rarity in the market.

The yacht has been designed with people in mind and is, therefore, the perfect set up for a teambuilding day on the water. Boasting a double helm with easy access to winches, there’s ample opportunity for everyone onboard to chip in to race these yachts to victory.

As someone who loves to sail, taking care of our oceans is of paramount importance to me. By choosing to use one of these boats, I know that I’m making a responsible choice; these yachts have a more efficient engine design than previous fleets, demonstrating Sunsail’s commitment to protecting the environment and the waters they navigate.

All in all, I’d say that these boats tick all the boxes. They provide a sailing opportunity that’s fun, exciting and safe, and combine comfort and luxury, unrivalled by any other charter fleet in the UK.

Having been lucky enough to sail the Sunsail 41.0 demo boat already, I can’t wait to get back out on one again next year!
