Port Solent Sailing school Coronavirus FAQs

Sunsail Schools (UK) – Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Sunsail are here for you.

We know these are troubling times for many of us, and the Coronavirus (COVID-19) has understandably caused increased uncertainty throughout the global community. We at Sunsail would like to reassure our guests that we are here to help navigate you through these uncharted waters.

We are reviewing all UK bookings on a weekly-rolling basis. Our team are working extremely hard to proactively contact all customers whose courses or events have been affected, and we will be in touch with you as soon as possible. Please check your junk mail to make sure you haven’t missed our email.

A number of our customers who have booked sailing school courses with us this year have been in touch to find out if their sailing course will still be taking place in light of the current coronavirus outbreak.

For clarity on Sunsail’s position as it currently stands for our UK Sailing School customers:

  •  For the safety of our customers and staff, we have taken the appropriate decision to suspend all sailing courses from our Port Solent base up to and including the 14th June.
  • All customers with a UK course or event, up until the 14th June will have the opportunity to rebook for a later date or receive a refund credit for the full amount of the course paid in full.
  • If you are booked onto a course which is due to depart after the 14th June and we take the decision to postpone, we will be in touch with you to discuss moving your booking to a later date or providing you with a Sunsail refund credit.
  • During this time we will continue to closely monitor and assess government advice and take further decisions where necessary.
  • If you are booked onto a course due to run within this time, we will be in touch with you to discuss moving your booking to a later date or providing you with a Sunsail refund credit.

Our team are working extremely hard to proactively contact all customers whose bookings have been affected, and we will be in touch with you as soon as possible.

Online Theory Courses

This decision will not impact the online theory courses we operate from the base. These will still run; however, currently we will not be offering ‘classroom’ as a study option. More information about these courses can be found here:

•            RYA Day Skipper Theory

•            RYA Coastal Skipper & Yachtmaster Theory
