Port Solent Sailing school Coronavirus FAQs

Sunsail Schools & Charters (UK) – Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Sunsail are here for you.

We know these are troubling times for many of us, and the Coronavirus (COVID-19) has understandably caused increased uncertainty throughout the global community. We at Sunsail would like to reassure our guests that we are here to help navigate you through these uncharted waters.

We are reviewing all UK bookings on a weekly-rolling basis. Our team are working extremely hard to proactively contact all customers whose courses or events have been affected, and we will be in touch with you as soon as possible. Please check your junk mail to make sure you haven’t missed our email.

For clarity on Sunsail’s position as it currently stands for our UK Sailing School & Charter customers:

From the 6th July, 2020, we are proud to be joining the rest of the UK's business and leisure industries in opening our doors again for sailing around the British Isles!

We can't wait to welcome you onboard and want to make sure you are ready to experience the adventure all over again in a safe environment. This has been long awaited and we have made sure that we will be able to adhere to social distancing guidelines where necessary, and have implemented new health and safety procedures across all of our bases to protect our guests and staff.

What are we able to offer?

From the 6th July we will be open for weekend charters, week long 'staycations', as well as single household RYA training courses and skippered bareboat charters. With a brand new fleet of yachts, perfectly suited for cruising holidays, you can ensure your next adventure on the water is in style.

Whether you are ready for a day out with the family, or would like to spend the weekend away in some new surroundings, Sunsail are excited to be able to welcome you back.

During this time we will continue to closely monitor and assess government advice and take further decisions where necessary. If you are booked onto a course due to run from the 6th July onwards with members of a different household, we will be in touch with you to discuss your options.

Our team are working extremely hard to proactively contact all customers whose bookings have been affected, and we will be in touch with you as soon as possible.

This decision will not impact the online theory courses we operate from the base. These will still run; however, currently we will not be offering ‘classroom’ as a study option. More information about these courses can be found here:
