Welcome to Sunsail's marina in Tahiti!
Please view French Polynesia latest travel requirements in response to covid 19 below. Sunsail will continue to monitor these updates to keep our guests informed of these changes.
We would also advise that you contact your airline for the most up to date information around entry requirements and re-entry to your home country.
*Please check that this information is applicable for your departure country, as selected countries are not allowed to enter certain sailing destinations.
While The Islands of Tahiti are opening their borders for international travellers, certain Policies and Procedures will need to be followed when entering the country, before, and during your stay there.
Before You Go
All Travellers:
- Must do a Covid-19 PCR test or antigen test performed less than 24 hours prior to departure
- As the French Polynesia Ministry of Health strongly recommends choosing a RT-PCR test, which is more sensitive to the detection of covid-19, please note the three following scenarios:
CASE 1: Presentation of a RT-PCR taken within the previous 24 hours, which is negative before boarding (recommended option)
CASE 2: If it is not possible to perform a RT-PCR test within 24 hours then it is advised that travellers present proof of a negative antigen test taken within the previous 24 hours coupled with a RT-PCR test taken within the previous 2 days.
CASE 3: If it is not possible to perform a RT-PCR test within 2 days, then travellers may present a negative test result from an antigen test taken within the previous 24 hours. However, in this case, a RT-PCR test will be carried out on arrival at the expense of the traveler (price to be confirmed) from January 10, 2022.
- Pending the results of this test, it is requested that travellers strictly respect barrier gestures and avoid any non-essential contact.
- Travel insurance is mandatory for anyone traveling to French Polynesia who is not a French citizen and is not affiliated with French social security, with whom Polynesia has agreements.
