Beaches, bays, blissed-out sailing
Scattered like jewels over the ocean just southeast of Florida in the Caribbean, The Bahamas offer endless possibilities for sailors. With 700 islands and thousands of cays to explore in The Bahamas, you’d be hard-pressed to find a place closer to paradise on Earth. Warm, gentle trade winds consistently caress the sheltered waters around The Bahamas, making it a perfect choice for families and novice sailors.
Just below the surface of the warm waters lies almost a quarter of the Earth’s coral, home to a spectacular array of tropical marine life swimming in the jewel-hued sea. Divers will find one of the most complete diving destinations in the world, with choices ranging from sunken Spanish galleons to massive blue holes, forest-like coral reefs to underwater caves. Head for famous dive sites including the Abacos Train Wreck, the USS Adirondack or the Tongue of the Ocean for an unforgettable diving experience.
From our base in Marsh Harbour, Great Abaco, you’ll find a Bahamian island to match every mood, each set against the backdrop of the mesmerising turquoise sea. Head to Green Turtle Cay for hidden coves and deserted beaches, or visit Elbow Cay, where the toughest decision you’ll make is where to snorkel first. Fish for big game species including marlin, tuna, and shark from the deck of your yacht, or surf some of The Bahamas' best surf spots on Elbow and Great Guana cays.
Set sail on your own private yacht with a bareboat charter holiday in The Bahamas. Offering one of the world’s largest barrier reefs, a quarter of the world’s coral lying just beneath the surface, white sandy beaches and crystal clear waters, these islands are a favourite among families.
Our intermediate sailing destinations, Level 2 sailing areas offer a greater challenge for sailors more comfortable on the open water. Enjoy strong winds and longer spells of open water sailing, suitable for more experienced skippers.
