Where is the best place to sail in St. Lucia?

From our base in Rodney Bay, there are many places to sail depending on the type of sailing holiday you’re looking for. We have our own suggested itinerary available or you can tailor your own route.

Sailing St. Lucia gives us a unique perspective of this stunning Caribbean Island. From your yacht, you can dive into lush, warm water, see stunning sunrises and explore all the island has to offer. Soak in the warm Caribbean sun whilst admiring this island’s dramatic  jungle peaks and golden-white beaches.

For Families

Our base at Rodney bay is a great starting point, especially for families as it offers a well protected harbour that provides calm sheltered waters – ideal for younger children. From here you can explore Pigeon Island National park or take part in watersports. From here you can sail to the tranquil and serene Marigot Bay.

For Couples

Sunset views and beachfront dining is almost a given in St.Lucia and surrounding islands, however the below are the most idyllic couples spots (in our opinion).

  • Marigot Bay is also a wonderful destination for couples on a romantic get- away, as it is more tranquil and private than Rodney Bay. There are also a number of waterfront bars and restaurants for delicious, romantic meals out and a cocktail with a view. The sunset view from your yacht will include a backdrop of the Pitons and the Caribbean Sea, and watching the waterfront restaurants light up as the sun goes down, a truly magical experience.
  • Kearton’s Bay in St.Vincent, is a hidden gem with spectacular black volcanic sand and a more intimate dinner setting.
  • Princess Margaret Beach in Bequia is known for its iconic Beach Bar, as well as its beach being capped with soft golden sands and azure waters that create the ultimate romantic retreat.

For First-Time Sailors

The aforementioned, Rodney Bay is a protected and tranquil harbour, perfect for those new to sailing vacations and first-time sailors.

If looking to sail St.Lucia, we do require you to have at least 20 days experience (or 400 miles) as a skipper on an equivalent sized yacht (level 3 sailing experience), which can be obtained through our sailing school

However, If you are a complete novice sailor, we do offer skippered yacht charters which means you’ll have a skipper onboard to sail you around the island.

For Large Groups

Admiralty Bay, located in Bequia, is ideal for large parties due to its expansive and sheltered waters. With numerous anchorages, vibrant waterfront bars, and restaurants like Jack’s Bar, it provides ample space and lively venues for group celebrations. The bay’s social atmosphere, proximity to amenities and scenic mountain trails offer a unique holiday experience for each individual and enhance the experience of a large gatherings charter around St. Lucia.

What are the best things to do in St. Lucia?

St. Lucia is a Caribbean paradise, an island where natural wonders meet cultural richness and heritage and pristine beaches. There are a plethora of things to do in St. Lucia, from exploring the twin volcanic peaks (Pitons), discovering their sulphur springs or experiencing the first ever drive-in volcano.

We understand that between the unique geographic experiences that St.Lucia offers and the culture, the dining experiences and coastal views – it may be hard to know where to start. So we have summarised our favourite things to do in St. Lucia, below.

Relaxing

Jalousie Dock is home to Sugar Beach, a resort known for its luxury cabanas, poolside bars, and snorkelling in a National Marine Reserve. This beachfront is nestled into a cove at the base of the Pitons, providing remarkable views and serenity.

Whilst docked close to the Pitons, we highly recommend a trek up the mountains, and treating yourself to a famed ‘Saint Lucian Mud Bath’, for an invigorating experience in volcanic mud, which will leave your skin soft and glowing.

Exploring

If you’re into snorkelling or diving, you must visit Tobago Cays, this Caribbean gem offers an unparalleled diving experience ideal for all ages and levels.

It would also be criminal to visit St. Lucia and not explore the trails up the Pitons: whether you choose to explore Gros Piton or Petit Piton, is entirely up to you! The summit from both peaks offer panoramic views of the island and look out across the spectacular Caribbean Sea
