Every August Dartmouth, which is set on the picturesque River Dart in South Devon, becomes a haven for sailors and their families.
Dartmouth is steeped in maritime history and is a wonderful place to spend time, both on and off the water. It’s even famous for having some of the best fish and chips on the south coast.
The 2017 Regatta boasts a wonderful programme of sailing, from dinghies to yacht racing, and visitors can also take part in rowing and swimming events, if they feel energetic enough.
Air displays, live music, street food, and fireworks mean the regatta has something for all the family. Visitors from across the globe help the Dartmouth Royal Regatta come alive, and it’s a great place for family adventures.
Sunsail and the British Virgin Island Tourist Board are co-sponsoring the new 500-seater sea themed open air cinema, perfect for entertaining pirates large and small.
The 2017 Royal Regatta will open with a grand Opening Ceremony on Wednesday, 23rd August, and run until Saturday, 26th August.
