Eleuthera Catamaran Charters

Described as the “pineapple capital of the world,” Eleuthera is a thin island located to the east of the Sunsail base in Nassau and is a popular destination for a catamaran charter in the Caribbean. With permission from the base and enough time to make the lengthy passage, you can cruise by catamaran to Eleuthera and closeby islands.

Sunsail offers sail catamarans to Eleuthera and anywhere in The Bahamas. While Eleuthera is not on our suggested Exumas itinerary, it is still within reach by catamaran.  The distance between Nassau and Eleuthera is 66 nautical miles. At about 10 knots, your sail catamaran can anchor in Eleuthera in approximately five to six hours.

After the long sail, find an anchorage along one of Eleuthera’s and Harbour Island’s many white or pink sand beaches. Spend several days and nights exploring the 210 miles of its coastline. The fourth most populated island of The Bahamas, Eleuthera’s New England-inspired architecture and cosmopolitan culture were influenced by British Loyalists who settled in the area in the 16th century. On land, you will find acres of pineapple plantations and “Pineapple City” or Gregory Town where the annual Pineapple Fest is held in June.
