One of the Phlegraean Islands found along Italy’s beautiful Sorrentine Peninsula, Procida is a scenic destination and the start of your sailing holiday in one of Italy’s most attractive, arresting regions. Procida was announced as Italy’s capital of culture in 2022.
Procida has been a desirable holiday destination since ancient times, when members of Rome’s wealthy patrician elite would flock to the island to spend their leisure time in the sun and sea of this Tyrrhenian gem. Today, Procida wears its rich history on its sleeve. The Terra Murata Fort stands on the island’s highest point, overlooking a picturesque Mediterranean town of multi-coloured, multi-tiered construction that has inspired numerous novels and films.
Set sail from Procida to discover the Phlegraean and Pontine islands, and Italy’s famous Amalfi Coast. A couple of miles across the Gulf of Naples lies Naples itself—a buzzing metropolis listed among the world’s oldest cities and famously the birthplace of pizza. Brooding Mount Vesuvius and the buried towns of Pompeii and Herculaneum are a short sail away, and beyond is Sorrento: the start of the Amalfi Coast.
Pick up a beautiful modern yacht from our marina at picturesque Procida and set off on your own Italian cruise. Enjoy gentle coastal sailing and line-of-sight island hopping as you set your own agenda, exploring the glamorous Amalfi Coast and the islands of the Sorrentine Peninsula at your own pace.
Explore Italy’s celebrated Amalfi coast on a flotilla holiday or specialty flotilla. Guiding you from our base in Procida, your flotilla lead crew will take you on a week-long journey in a sailor’s paradise. Choose from our Sail, Wine and Taste of Italy flotilla that’s designed for foodies, or a flotilla that will have you island hopping through the Pontine Islands.
Our intermediate sailing destinations, Level 2 sailing areas offer a greater challenge for sailors more comfortable on the open water. Enjoy strong winds and longer spells of open water sailing, suitable for more experienced skippers.
To sail in this destination you'll need at least an ICC or an RYA Day Skipper qualification or above.
